چکیده

Graphical mechanisms for spatially organizing personal media data could enable users to fruitfully apply their conceptual models. This paper introduces Semantic Regions, an innovative way for users to construct display representations of their conceptual models by drawing regions on 2D space and specifying the semantics for each region. Then users can apply personal categorizations to personal media data using the fling-and-flock metaphor. This allows personal media to be dragged to the spatiallyorganized display and automatically grouped according to time, geography, family trees, groups of friends, or other spatially-organized display representations of conceptual models. The prototype implementation for Semantic Regions, MediaFinder, was refined based on two small usability tests for usage and construction of user-defined conceptual models. Corresponding author. A New Single-Display Intelligent Adaptive Interface for Controlling a Group of UAVs

The increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones in different civil and military operations has attracted attention of many researchers and science communities. One of the most notable challenges in this field is supervising and controlling a group or a team of UAVs by a single user. Thereupon, we proposed a new intelligent adaptive interface (IAI) to overcome to this challenge. ...

LyberWorld - A Visualization User Interface Supporting Fulltext Retrieval

LyberWorld is a prototype IR user interface. It implements visualizations of an abstract information space – fulltext. The paper derives a model for such visualizations and an exemplar user interface design is implemented for the probabilistic fulltext retrieval system INQUERY. Visualizations are used to communicate information search and browsing activities in a natural way by applying metapho...

Video summarization and personalization for pervasive mobile devices

We have designed and implemented a video semantic summarization system, which includes an MPEG-7 compliant annotation interface, a semantic summarization middleware, a real-time MPEG-1/2 video transcoder on PCs, and an application interface on color/black-and-white Palm-OS PDAs. We designed a video annotation tool, VideoAnn, to annotate semantic labels associated with video shots. Videos are fi...
